BASF IRGACURE 127 is a Type I free-radical UV photoinitiator in the IRGACURE series, 2-benzyl-2-(dimethylamino)-1-(4-morpholinophenyl)-1-butanone, off-white powder, non-yellowing, oxygen-insensitive, low-odor/low-volatility post-cure, ideal for UV inks, clear coats, wood floor topcoats, compoundable with IRG 379/819 for enhanced curing.
Efficient UV initiation - Rapid free-radical generation under UV, accelerating curing speed, ideal for thin-coat rapid curing
Low oxygen inhibition - Reduces oxygen’s curing inhibition, improving surface curing, minimizing pinholes
Excellent compounding synergy - Compatible with most monomers/oligomers, compoundable for red-shifted absorption
Low volatility & odor - Low post-cure volatiles, mild odor, suitable for indoor/low-odor scenarios
Good thermal stability - Thermally stable, easy-to-disperse powder, suitable for free-radical/cationic systems
Acrylic UV-curable varnishes - For paper, metal, plastic surfaces, improving gloss and weather resistance
Outdoor wood/plastic UV coatings - Suitable for outdoor weathering requirements, minimizing yellowing, ensuring long-lasting color
Flexo/screen UV inks - For packaging printing, enabling rapid curing and color stability
Electronic coatings - For PCB solder masks, optical film coatings, ensuring fine-pattern curing
Water-based UV dispersions - Suitable for water-based UV-curable coatings, ensuring curing efficiency and storage stability
