Clariant Emulsogen EPN 287 is a fatty alcohol ethoxylate-based nonionic emulsifier (70% active) for acrylate, styrene-acry for acrylate, styrene-acrylate, and vinyl acetate emulsion polymerization. Its APEO-free, low-VOC formula reduces coagulum formation and maintains low viscosity under shear. FDA-approved and EcoTain® certified, it enhances electrolyte stability and freeze-thaw resistance in industrial coatings and adhesives
Coagulation Control - Minimizes grit formation by 30–50% during polymerization
Shear Resistance - Stabilizes viscosity in high-speed processing for uniform dispersions
Multi-Monomer Adaptability - Compatible with acrylates, styrenes, and vinyl acetate
EcoTain® Attributes - Readily biodegradable (OECD 301F) and hazard-label-free
Process Efficiency - Cold-process compatible for energy-saving production
Architectural Coatings - Freeze-thaw stable styrene-acrylate paints (0.5–5% dosage)
Adhesive Systems - Water-based laminates with improved bond strength
Textile Binders - Nonwoven coatings requiring low grit levels
Industrial Primers - High-temperature epoxy dispersions for metal substrates
Paper Coatings - Barrier emulsions with enhanced water resistance
