DOWSIL 7 Additive is a high-performance silicone defoamer from Dow, specialized for solvent-based systems. It uses modified polysiloxane technology to enable rapid bubble collapse (≤15 sec) and long-term foam suppression. With a transparent liquid form (0.74–0.84 cSt viscosity) and low surface tension (≤25 mN/m), it enhances leveling in coatings and inks, minimizing pinholes and craters during application. Stable across pH 2–12 and compatible with acrylic, PU, and epoxy resins, it meets FDA 21 CFR 175.300 standards for food-contact inks.
