DOW SILASTIC 3-8186 is a two-component silicone elastomer crafted for precise sealing uses. It has a 1:1 mixing ratio (Part A/B density: 1.12/1.22 g/cm³) and dynamic viscosity of 135,000/125,000 cps. Under low-temperature curing (75°C/10min), it turns into elastic foam, reaching compressive strength of 0.032-0.33 MPa (25-75% deflection) and tensile strength of 0.18 MPa (140% elongation). Its low sealing force (<26 psi) design lessens assembly stress, making it perfect for automotive and lighting waterproofing through robotic dispensing systems.
