TEGO Foamex 843 Defoamer

TEGO Foamex 843 is a German-origin defoamer, formulated as a polyether-silicone/nanosilica compound. Engineered with advanced thermo-mechanical properties to secure a competitive edge, it appears as a translucent homogeneous liquid with a viscosity of 200-500 mPa·s. It maintains stable activity under pH 3-10 and temperatures ≤55°C, achieving 90% foam suppression at a dosage of 0.03%-0.1%. Certified by REACH, ISO 9001, and GB 9685-2016, it enhances print dot clarity (dot gain ≤1.0%) and leveling (Ra≤0.15 μm) in water-based flexo and UV gravure inks.

Features Of TEGO Foamex 843 Defoamer

  1. Millisecond Response: Equipped with 0.9 μm nanoparticles that collapse foam in 300 ms (per ASTM D892-III standards), ensuring ultra-rapid foam control for high-speed applications.

  2. High-Speed Compatibility: Maintains stability at press speeds ≥800 m/min, making it ideal for fast-paced printing processes.

  3. Self-Wetting Design: Reduces contact angle from 105° to 25° on substrates, improving wetting and adhesion for smoother, more uniform finishes.

  4. Food Safety Compliance: Meets FDA 21CFR 175.300 standards, suitable for inks used in food contact packaging.

Typical Applications Of TEGO Foamex 843 Defoamer

  1. Flexible Food Packaging: Controls trailing (ΔE≤0.2) on NY/CPP (nylon/cast polypropylene) substrates at speeds ≥700 m/min, ensuring consistent print quality in food packaging.

  2. Label UV Inks: Achieves ≤0.8% dot gain under electron beam (EB) curing at ≥200 mJ/cm², maintaining precision in label printing.

  3. Aseptic Carton Printing: Limits oxygen transmission to ≤5 cc/m²/day, preserving the barrier properties of aseptic cartons.
