Momentive A-1891 (γ-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane) is a bifunctional coupling agent that enhances adhesion between organic polymers (e.g., acrylics, EPDM) and inorganic substrates (e.g., silica, metals) via mercapto and methoxy groups. It improves mechanical strength, chemical resistance, and filler dispersion in rubber, coatings, and composites. Compatible with radical polymerization systems, it enables rapid curing at ambient temperatures while complying with REACH standards
Dual Reactivity - Mercapto bonds with resins; methoxy links to fillers/metals
Dynamic Performance - Enhances modulus, abrasion resistance, and wet strength retention (>90%)
Process Efficiency - Low viscosity (1.045 g/cm³) for easy filler dispersion
Multi-Matrix Compatibility - Works with polyesters, epoxies, and elastomers
Sustainability - Halogen-free, reduces VOC emissions in formulations
Tire Tread Compounds - Silica reinforcement for low rolling resistance
Industrial Rubber - Seals, hoses with improved wear resistance
Anti-Corrosion Coatings - Enhanced metal adhesion and chemical resistance
FRP Composites - Glass fiber sizing for high-strength structures
