Shin-Etsu KBM-803 (3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane) is a thiol-functional silane coupling agent that bridges organic polymers and inorganic substrates via reactive mercapto and methoxy groups. It enhances adhesion, reduces viscosity, and improves mechanical/chemical resistance in coatings, adhesives, and composites. Compatible with elastomers and epoxy resins, it is widely used in rubber compounding and electronic encapsulation, offering fast curing at ambient temperatures and compliance with REACH/RoHS standards
Dual Reactivity - Mercapto bonds with polymers; methoxy links to metals/glass
Viscosity Control - Low viscosity (1.057 g/cm³) for easy processing
Durability Enhancement - Improves UV/chemical resistance and mechanical strength
Multi-Matrix Compatibility - Effective with epoxy, polyurethane, and rubber
Eco-Friendly - Halogen-free, suitable for waterborne systems
Rubber Industry - Enhances耐磨性 in tires and seals (NR, EPDM, SBR)
Electronic Encapsulation - Moisture-resistant protection for PCBs
Adhesive Formulations - Boosts bonding strength in structural adhesives
Composite Interfaces - Glass fiber treatment for FRP reinforcement
