Wetting dispersant for water-based and solvent-based coating systems and printing inks. Can be used for all pigment concentrates, from non-polar to aqueous systems.
Chemical composition
Modified polyurethane solution
Typical materialized data
The data presented on this data page are only typical values, not technical indicators of the product.
Amine value: 13 mgkoh / g
Density (20°c): 1.03 g / ml
Non-volatile fraction (20 min., 150 °c): 43%
Solvent: Propylene glycol methyl ether acetate / dipropylene glycol methyl ether / butyl acetate 7 / 4 / 4
Flash point: 38° c
Special reminder
Surface treatment of some organic pigments has adverse effects on the properties of the additives. In this case, the same type of untreated pigment can be tried.
Product characteristics and advantages
DISPERBYK-182 unflocculation of pigment by steric stabilization. Because the particle size of the flocculation pigment is small, it can obtain high luster, enhance color strength, and improve transparency or covering force. Due to the decrease of the viscosity, the fluidity can be improved, and the pigment content can be increased.
Recommended use
DISPERBYK-182 is widely used and suitable for solvent forms and water-based systems. It can be used alone or in conjunction with DISPERBYK-108 for the production of more economical solvent-based pigment concentrates.
Suggested dosage
Auxiliary dosage (purchased form) based on pigment:
Inorganic pigment: 15-20% titanium dioxide: 4-5%
Organic pigments: 30-60% carbon black: 80-100%
The above recommended amount is for reference, and the optimal amount should be determined through a series of tests.
Add method and processing guidance
To achieve optimal performance, the additives must be added to the abrasive, and then to the pigment. The resin and solvent components in the arbrasive were premixed, and then disperbyk-182 was slowly added in the stirred state. Pigments can only be added only after the additives are completely dispersed evenly.
