Dow AFFINITY™ GA 1900 Impact Modifier

AFFINITY™ GA 1900 is a high-performance polyolefin plastomer (POP) from Dow, produced via INSITE™ Technology. It features high clarity, low density, low viscosity, excellent thermal stability, and broad polymer compatibility, ideal for polymer modification, masterbatch carriers, and hot melt adhesives, while complying with U.S. FDA food contact standards.

Features Of Dow AFFINITY™ GA 1900  Impact Modifier

  1. High clarity and low haze, with low density (0.870 g/cm³) and low viscosity, suitable for thin-wall products and high-speed processing

  2. Excellent thermal stability and low-temperature performance (Tg -57.8°C), maintaining stable properties across a wide temperature range

  3. High flexibility and low crystallinity, enabling high-fill modification to reduce formulation costs

  4. Non-corrosive, low-odor, and excellent color, free of antiblock, slip, and processing aids for a pure formulation

  5. Excellent compatibility with a wide range of polymers, enhancing adhesion to diverse substrates when compounded

Typical Applications Of Dow AFFINITY™ GA 1900  Impact Modifier

  1. Polymer modification: As a modifier for PP/PE, improving flow, impact resistance, and low-temperature toughness for appliance housings and automotive parts

  2. Masterbatch & additive carrier: Carries pigments and functional additives to enhance dispersion and processing stability

  3. Hot melt adhesives: Offers excellent bond strength for carton sealing and hygiene products over a wide temperature range

  4. Composite packaging: Used as an adhesive or heat-seal layer in multi-layer films, improving interlayer adhesion and optical performance

  5. High-fill products: Compatible with high levels of fillers for low-cost, high-rigidity industrial components
